Let's keep the Halloween spirit going just a bit longer with a visit to Asbury Park, NJ. Every year, the seaside town hosts its Zombie Walk on the boardwalk. Thousands of people come to participate. Judges find the finalists in costume categories like Best Adult Zombie, Best Youth Zombie, Best Zombie Couple, and Best Zombie Group. I was there in 2022, but these photos of revenants are still relevant -- zombies never die.
My sister is the blondie, and you can see the expanse of the boardwalk, which is at least a mile long. Soon it would be filled with ghouls and zombies.
Here are two zombies, snarling and bloodied.
A ghoul, suitably streaked with blood.
My favorite -- a Queen Elizabeth II lookalike. The poor queen had died just four weeks earlier, so resurrecting her felt particularly ghoulish. Here she is in a neat suit with matching hat and a pert little handbag.
Can't forget the dog and the Union Jack.
Right behind her, in death as in life, was Prince Philip, pushing her gravestone.
These two get my vote for Best Zombie Couple.
